No. Assimilated Measurements: 2,556,963

This is a preliminary product, and we are still developing the methodology for estimating and presenting fluxes at the scale of individual countries. The emissions reported here are posterior CT2022 fluxes integrated across the grid cells identified as beloging to the specified country group. Country definitions at this 1° longitude x 1° latitude resolution are available in our regions.nc file. These definitions may not correspond to conventional country boundaries due to the coarse resolution grid being used.

With the current CarbonTracker system, it is exceedingly difficult to robustly estimate fluxes and their uncertainties for smaller regions, especially those without significant measurement coverage. As a result, fluxes are reported here are without uncertainty estimates. Results should be interpreted with caution, especially for regions without an abundance of assimilation measurements. The CarbonTracker system does not use atmospheric CO2 measurements to estimate fossil-fuel or fire emissions.

The number of measurements listed is the total number of assimilated CO2 measurements lying within the country group boundaries and below 8,000 m ASL during the CT2022 analysis period (2000-2020). The validity of CT2022 fluxes for a given region depends strongly on the number of CO2 measurements available for assimilation in the region.
