This is an archived version of the 2023 Global Monitoring Annual Conference

Dear GMAC Colleagues,

NOAA’s Global Monitoring Laboratory (GML) is proud to announce the 51st Global Monitoring Annual Conference (GMAC) will be held in person May 23-24, 2023 in Boulder, Colorado, fostering collaboration and partnerships in the global atmospheric monitoring community.

For those unable to attend in person, we will have a virtual option available for attending and presenting. If you plan to attend remotely, please tick the appropriate box on the registration form.

This year’s GMAC will be held on the University of Colorado campus in the University Memorial Center’s Glenn Miller Ballrooms. The new venue will provide a comfortable large meeting space, a dedicated poster display location, and break-out rooms for enhanced collaboration.

Schedule:

An overview of the sessions during the conference is available here.

Early Career Happy Hour

Following the end of the GMAC at 6:15pm on Wednesday evening, early career scientists are invited to gather at Cafe Aion, on the Hill - a 5 minute walk from the GMAC venue. "Early career" scientists are self-identified, and are roughly defined as being within 10 years of one's terminal degree - all are welcome! Please RSVP to Aleya Kaushik to ensure there is enough seating: aleya.kaushik@noaa.gov

Conference Transportation:

No shuttles will be run between hotels and the CU campus.

Parking is conveniently available in the lot adjacent to the University Memorial Center on the CU Boulder campus (1725 Euclid Avenue). Accessible parking is available in surrounding lots with an ADA placard. Use the Park Mobile app to register your vehicle and pay for the time you will be on campus. Additional parking information is available on CU’s Parking website.

Public transportation in the Boulder area is very reliable. You can find more information on bus routes and schedules at the Regional Transportation District-Denver website.

Conference Meals:

With the GMAC’s central location on the CU campus, ample time is built into the schedule for attendees to leave the conference for lunch. Please visit the links below for suggested on and off campus dining options:

Icebreaker:

GML is happy to announce an informal Ice Breaker meetup on Monday evening, May 22nd from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Rayback Collective (2775 Valmont Rd, Boulder, CO).
