Tilden Meyers, senior scientist at OAR/ARL/ATDD, has been with NOAA for nearly 35 years. Over his career, he has worked with both models and observations of trace gas fluxes and aerosols including methane, mercury, ammonia, nitric acid, ozone, CO2, and energy exchanges including water and sensible heat. Although still with OAR/ARL, his duty station is now at GML/ESRL in Boulder, CO as an ARL liaison to foster and promote cross-cutting and collaborative research with other OAR laboratories. He recently help coordinate the participation of ATDD in the Land Atmosphere Feedback Experiment (LAFE) as well as planning NOAA’s participation in The Chequamegon Heterogeneous Ecosystem Energy-balance Study Enabled by a High-density Extensive Array of Detectors (CHEESEHEAD) experiment. This was an intensive field campaign designed specifically to address long-standing puzzles regarding the role of atmospheric boundary-layer responses to surface-atmosphere heat and water exchanges.
